Hotel Sol Samara

We're halfway through a multi-day stay, and the staff have been wonderful hosts, especially with our kids. One evening we had cocktails in the open-air lobby; the next, we spent family time on the balcony watching birds and getting some affection from local kittens. The staff have gone beyond what we expected with their service and kindness.

We found Sol Samara peaceful and quiet, with a large outdoor area full of palms and flowers. The room was simple, clean, comfortable, and well priced. They also offer laundry service and have a small pool. The included breakfast was great, and the staff were excellent. The beach is about a three-minute walk away, while the center of Samara takes around 20 minutes on foot. It's a lovely walk, especially at sunset. The hotel restaurant serves dinner most nights, though there are plenty more options in town if you want shops, bars, music, and more of a crowd. We recommend the place if you want somewhere calm within reasonable reach of what you need. We'll definitely return next time we're at Samara Beach. Thank you, Sol Samara!

Quiet, good value for the price, and the breakfast was really tasty. It was some of the best pinto I've tried.

The meals were a highlight. Breakfast came hot and made to order, and the chef was great. I ate dinner here a couple of times too: the shrimp rice, tropical salad with pineapple and watermelon, lobster, and fried plantain were all enjoyable. Of the other four restaurants we tried in Samara, this was the best. Cynthia and Emanuel were great with every question or request and always greeted us with a smile. The hotel is tucked down an alley about a block from the beach. Our clean room was bug-free and stayed cool with the AC. The pool is small but nicely landscaped, so it feels roomy. We usually had hot water in the shower, and toiletries were provided.
