Los Suenos is a two-bedroom, two-bath townhome in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I own unit #6, listed on Airbnb. Mention this posting and I'll give you a free night on stays of 10 days or longer, except during Easter and Christmas weeks. It's one of Trip Adviser's best surfing beaches in Central America.

Everything is within a 10-minute walk, including the beach, restaurants, and shops. The quiet, well-kept two-story villas have a nicely sized pool in the center and natural flower gardens throughout.

With the private pool and clean grounds, this is a lovely spot. The lush greenery makes the property feel far removed from the busy town, even though it's just down the road.

If you can find a unit on AirBNB or know someone who has one, Los Suenos II is a great choice in Tamarindo. It's a small gated condo community with multi-story buildings, nice condos, and a pool. The ocean is only about a five-minute walk away.

I grew up in Tamarindo, and these days I'd avoid staying downtown because it's too loud and busy. I can't speak for all the condos, but Casa De Luca at Los Dueños ll is great for a family. Los Sueños is well placed, secure, and clean, with banks, grocery stores, surf shops, ziplining, and other attractions nearby. You wake up to howler monkeys and all kinds of birds.
