The grounds felt secure, with gates, good lighting, and everything kept up nicely. Inside, our room was clean, well stocked, and had a lovely feel. Alejandro and Valarie were incredibly accommodating and helpful, and the pool was a nice place to unwind after a full day exploring.

We didn't rent a car, and made the 40-minute walk to the grocery store early in the morning. The caretakers were lovely and even did our laundry for free. The jungle setting has Pacific views and some great hiking nearby, and we'll definitely return. Our bedroom had a kitchenette, and the bathroom was spacious and clean, with a great shower and lots of room for clothes. There was AC and a fan, but at night we switched them off and opened the windows since there's often a cool breeze. The shared pool is long enough for swimming, with plenty of loungers and hammocks. There's also a barbecue, dumbbells, and yoga mats.

The setting in the hills above Avellnas is a hidden gem, and the beach is only about 15-20 minutes away. There are plenty of things to see and do around the area. We booked at the last minute, and they made room for us right away. We stayed in Villa Anturio, a two-bedroom villa with a good-sized kitchen and living area, plus a private outdoor spot to relax and a propane BBQ. The rooms were roomy, and the beds were some of the most comfortable I've had in Costa Rica. The clean, modern bathroom had a wonderful shower, and the kitchen was fully equipped with a big fridge. The grounds are beautiful, with a huge pool and lots of hammocks for sunset. Cleaning, fresh sheets and towels, and laundry are all included, which would make a longer stay easy. It was just my husband and me, but it also seems suited to families or someone traveling solo who wants quiet. It felt very safe, with security. From arrival through checkout, everything went smoothly, and I can't say enough good things about the place. It's a great spot to relax and unwind.

The hosts are wonderful, and the property seems suited to all kinds of travelers. The view is incredible, the weather is perfect, and getting to avellanas is quick and easy. You can also walk or jog along a nice, quiet path that feels almost like jungle.
