Cockroaches came up through the drains, and I had to sleep with the lights on, lying on my luggage. Apparently the owner knows about the problem and won’t do anything. There are a million other clean options in and around Tamarindo, so this is one less place I’ll consider.

We felt at home here and absolutely loved our stay. Tamarindo beach is right across the street, and the staff made the place feel like family. It’s being redecorated now, and the changes are turning out really pretty. It’s soon to be Her Waves and Wifi.

The staff were so kind and friendly, and the location was good, with lots of fun things to do like surfing and kayaking. I really enjoyed my stay here.

The location was okay, with a great place to eat right next door, but the room wasn’t clean. There were cockroaches and ants, so I wouldn’t really recommend this hostel.

The location is the one good thing about this hostel. It’s close to food, the beach, shopping, pretty much everything. We only stayed two nights, and both were really noisy. The worst of it came from the people who live there and look after the place, yelling like it was daytime and banging on something. Our first room’s door wouldn’t lock, so they moved us to room 4, I think. It was old in every way and had no hot water. I know it was hot outside, but after spending all day in the water, a warm shower would’ve been nice. The room needs renovating, or at least a fresh coat of paint. The receptionist was great and gave us lots of suggestions for places to eat and shop. I didn’t take photos of the property, but the image here is very close to it.
