Hostal Arquimides Baracoa

The balcony had a lovely view, and my room was spacious and extremely clean. What I remember most, though, is the traditional food Arquimides and his wife cooked: crab, fish and prawns with coconut milk, plus fried plantains, yuca and BBQ pork. Everything was delicious. The room and meals felt reasonably priced for their quality. Thanks, Arquimides, for making my time in Baracoa so enjoyable.

The family were friendly and attentive throughout our stay, and they were keen to help us plan trips from Baracoa to the national park, with several suggestions for places to visit. We stayed in a comfortable, clean, large room with a private bathroom at a fair price. Hostal Arquimides is right in town, just a short walk from the coast and center. They can cook local food on request, and we enjoyed it on the roof terrace. Sometimes there was Cuban live music up there too. We had a lovely stay and would come back.

The rooftop terrace has a great city view, and the hammock is very comfortable. Arquimides is well connected and can help with whatever you need in Baracoa. His rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with very cold A/C. Ask him to cook if you stay there. His traditional Baracoa dishes were delicious and came in bigger portions than I expected. My favorite was shrimp in coconut milk. He even offered to season pork we bought and grill it for free. I’ll stay at his house again next time I’m in Baracoa. Thanks for everything, amigo! La Rusa’s rooms and traditional food were the best I had in Cuba. The house was very clean, with large rooms, private bathrooms and new air conditioning. The terrace has a lovely panoramic view and is a nice place to sit for dinner, lunch or breakfast. Thanks so much for everything, amigo!

The room was huge, clean and modern, and staying with the family felt like being at home. Arquímides took us to the national park for a really fun day. Later, we went with the family and other guests to a Laritza bacallao concert. Thanks for such a lovely home and, even more, such good friends.
