Hotel Porto Santo

Greetings from Porto Santo in Baracoa. My partner and I are staying here for a longer time after looking at options in town. It’s low season and quiet, just what we wanted, and Porto Santo is the best hotel in town at the moment. We like the beautiful setting, the private beach downstairs, and the pool on hot days. The room is nice and clean, especially with a sea view, the bed is comfortable, the towels and linen are clean, and there’s a small fridge. The air conditioning works well, laundry is available, staff pay attention to our needs, and the hotel has a power station for electricity shortages. The restaurant and bar are okay, with a limited but honest selection of local food. A few things could be better: internet doesn’t work in the room and is unreliable in general, the food selection could have more variety, there’s no pool towel, and it’s expensive for what you get. If you want reasonable comfort, beautiful views, polite staff and a pool in Baracoa, Porto Santo is an option.

It’s a little outside town. The rooms are very basic, and there was hardly anything available for breakfast at the restaurant.

The hotel is older, and so are its facilities and services. It’s clean and the staff are friendly, but don’t expect luxury. The walls are really thin, so you hear the neighbors all night.

The hotel is spread across separate blocks. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the bar and pool were fine. Getting a suitcase to the bedroom isn’t easy, with the paths and stairs along the way.
