The staff were nice, and breakfast was okay. The rooms are spacious, with good beds, a TV with plenty of channels, and Wi-Fi in the common areas. But they weren't very clean, and there was no bedside lighting or mosquito netting on the windows. Bring your own net, especially in this humid inland location. There's no sea view, the pool area is noisy at night, and there are lots of mosquitoes. It's child-friendly, though dinner only has three choices. At 60 CUC for tourists, the room isn't worth the price, especially when the same room costs Cubans 25 CUC.

New Year's Eve was the bright spot: the dinner was plentiful and well prepared, and the place felt welcoming. The rest of the stay was unpleasant. There was no hot water in the rooms, the TV had no cable, and the showers had no curtains, so water nearly splashed into the rooms. Staff couldn't answer our questions or offer much help. Dinner on the first night was disgraceful, like a workers' cafeteria, with all due respect to workers. It may cost less than a higher-category hotel, but the service you pay for was either poor or missing. Nothing special.

The hotel manager took good care of our group of crazy friends, and the staff were welcoming throughout. We were there from the 27th to the 29th for a reunion of classmates who graduated in '88 and had studied together for six and three years. Some of us hadn't seen each other since. We had such a good time that our 1-to-5 fun rating would be 10 out of 10! The coconut water when we arrived, attentive staff, affordable and delicious food, spotless rooms, beautiful pool, and nights dancing to great disco music all made it special. One classmate called it SPECTACULAR, and another said, “See you in the next cartoon.” It was a magical weekend. The hotel staff and manager won't be rid of this wonderful group, so get ready for the next meeting!
