The setting and beach were lovely, but the hotel had too many problems. Our room wasn’t looked after properly: housekeeping mostly emptied the bin, and we had to keep asking for water and toilet paper. The curtains and blankets smelled bad, and we got the same towels all week. We even went to the gym to swap our beach towels; they said someone would take care of it, but nobody did. There were food marks and greasy plates and utensils at the buffet. We found a frog in the room on arrival, then another on our last day. Some staff were also unhelpful. On the left side of the beach, there are reefs with lots of fish and sea urchins, so be careful, something in the water can bite. The location is beautiful, but the place needs better upkeep and service.

We left the country almost immediately because we couldn’t manage even one full day here. This was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t spend money on it, and I don’t believe the reviews rated three stars or higher reflect the level of service here. The room was awful. It smelled strongly of damp and mould, and the odour got into all our belongings, even clothes we never wore and kept in our suitcases. We spent a whole day washing everything after we got home. The furniture was old and damaged, the sofa and bedding were stained, and there was no blanket. The air conditioning didn’t help with the smell and had no heating or auto-fan settings, so the room could get freezing when the temperature dropped. There was no mosquito net at the balcony door, and the balconies connect, so someone could walk to your window or enter if the door was unlocked. That felt unsafe. The problems started at check-in, when the key card didn’t work. There were only two bottles of water and a fridge in the room, with no kettle, coffee maker, or basic hospitality items. There was no hot water for a whole day, and when we complained, the only offer was to move rooms. The shower head was broken and had almost no pressure. The toilet paper was very poor quality, and we had just one towel. The food was so bad that I’ve never been this hungry at a hotel. Breakfast had little variety, and most things tasted bad: inedible sausages, poor vegetables, awful crepes, and scrambled eggs that were barely acceptable. There was no orange juice or Coke, or much of anything. Lunch was no better. There was almost no variety, and after waiting close to an hour for grilled meat, we got an overcooked, rubbery piece that was hard to chew. There’s no ATM on site and no proper shop for basics. The pool was dirty, with leaves and debris, and the beach was in similarly poor shape. Those are just some of the issues. If you care about cleanliness, safety, basic comfort, or your money, avoid this place.

Adriana and the team surprised my friend with a birthday party, which was so lovely. I spent two weeks here on crutches, and all the staff were exceptional about helping me. I love this resort, it feels like home away from home.

The resort is a nice size, so you don’t have to walk forever between buildings. We had a great time, with an amazing beach and really good people.

A total letdown. The food and accommodation were terrible, and even the beach wasn’t good. I’d never return. Be very skeptical of what you see on TripAdvisor and don’t waste your hard-earned money here.
