Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria

We had a relaxing stay and found this a good buy, with free Wi-Fi that worked well. The bay beach is beautiful and feels almost private, though it’s shared with another resort. Pools were clean, and the entertainment team was good. Food was mostly good, with seafood, Cuban rice and beans, pasta, desserts, plus a decent snack bar that could use more choices like soda and pizza. Most staff were nice, though a few had a bad attitude, which I guess can happen anywhere. There’s a retail shop with beauty products and a nearby souvenir stand, but no car rental on site. The weight room was a decent size, with free weights, machines and cardio equipment. The tennis court and soccer field could use upgrades. Watch the pool loungers, since some are missing screws and could cause a fall.

The food had a nice range and there was plenty of it, and the grounds were beautifully landscaped and cared for. Public areas had good seating and stayed very clean. The beach sand reaches about 20-30 meters into the water, down to roughly 1.8 meters, which was deep enough for a nice swim. Beyond that, the seabed is covered in coral. My partner and I had a lovely stay at Dhawa Resort. Everyone we dealt with on staff was friendly and worked hard to please us and the other guests, so five stars for them. We’d rate our room four stars, and the location four as well because of the coral past the sandy stretch. We highly recommend the resort.

The beach was stunning, with white sand, clear water, and a breathtaking sunrise. The pool was clean and quiet, and the 24-hour snack bar was handy when we arrived late. Our room was clean and had hot water, A/C, and a safe. The gardens were lush and carefully looked after, and you could tell the gardeners took pride in their work. Huge thanks to Riobeto for the beautiful flowers. We had good food in generous amounts, and dinner at the restaurant was delicious, with fresh fish every day. Drinks were plentiful, and coffee con leche was available. The staff at tus bar and the beach snack bar were cheerful, polite, and helpful. Marvelious made us tasty lunches, fresh salads, and fruit plates, thank you! The nautical team led by Moises made time on the water a highlight. Dionisious and the others were professional, skilled, and friendly. Barbara at customer service was warm and dedicated, always ready to help with requests. The whole staff at Dhawa Resort were kind and hospitable, which made us feel cared for. Thank you all for a wonderful vacation, we’ll definitely be back.

The room was spacious, and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. The beach was beautiful and the resort pools were perfect. It was quiet and relaxing, exactly what my fiancé and I needed while we were there from October 27-November 3. The staff were great and fun to talk to. The food wasn’t the best, but we didn’t go hungry and had a few favorites, especially the plantain chips. We’d definitely come again.
