You need Spanish, and it’s a long way from everything.

The room was roomy and comfortable, and the neighborhood felt calm and safe for walking around alone. This is a quiet residential area where you can get a glimpse of local life, unlike the old town. There are markets and little restaurants nearby, which is handy. The hostel has no sign, but the address gets you there. The manager is at the entrance around the clock, which was very kind. To reach the old town, you need a taxi, currently $10.

The rooms are really nice, though the price may be a little high. Vedado is beautiful and peaceful, even if it’s a bit far from central Havana. The shared terrace is excellent, and some rooms have their own private terrace too.
