Loft Habana Mini-Hotel

We went to the rooftop terrace, la Bahia, for a light dinner and a few drinks. The place has a cozy feel, the service was great, and the cocktails were good. The ceviche was really nice, and I've never had softer octopus. A great spot away from the beaten path!

We had a great experience at Loft Havana on our Cuba vacation last April. The staff were really friendly, and the location was right in the heart of Havana. The room was exceptional and very clean, and both the bathroom and duvets smelled lovely. Breakfast tasted great, with plenty of options to choose from.

The breakfast was generous and tasty, and the location in Old Havana is great, with many attractions, sites, restaurants, and pubs within walking distance. The staff were very friendly, though communicating in English wasn't easy. When we asked them to arrange a taxi to Varadero, the fare they found was much higher than what we paid on the way back, so we wondered if the concierge was entirely trustworthy. For the money, the place is good and has a nice vibe. In theory it offered everything, but the stay didn't feel very clean or comfortable, and I probably wouldn't choose it first next time. The beds were the main issue: the mattresses felt like they were from the 70's and were extremely uncomfortable, and the bed or beds creaked whenever we moved at night. Although we'd booked a double room, the beds were side by side with a huge gap between them. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly, and the water barely trickled out. It was warmer than cold, but barely hot.

Omar, the bar keep, was great, and the room was beautiful with a lovely rooftop terrace. There were a few things I'd change, though: no TV, and communication could be slow. Overall, it was nice. I wouldn't book transportation through them, since you can get it cheaper.
