I stayed last year and found it small but pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The area gets noisy at night, so if you're sensitive, bring earplugs and a mask. There were also some unpleasant smells in the morning, but that's common in the city and not the hotel's fault. I disagree with the many bad reviews. You have to consider Cuba's situation, and cleanliness and professionalism are what I look for in a hotel. I found both at the Vedado 500. The one thing to note is that there's no elevator.

It's a very small hotel with no attractions, and bar patrons disturb the peace for other guests. The staff are friendly, but the service overall is poor. There's very little food variety, and there aren't any drink choices for women, no soft drinks or juices. I do not recommend it.
