Las Americas

The location is handy, right on Las Americas avenue near the park, with lots of little restaurants nearby. The security guard and service staff were courteous, but the older receptionist was rude when we arrived and argued with us about our reservation. WiFi costs extra, 25 CUP per hour. Breakfast was limited to bread with ham, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice, and fruit brought to you, with nothing else to choose from. The room had window AC, and leaving it on caused a big buildup of ice on the evaporator. The water was cold most of the time and came out brownish. The doors use metal keys, not access cards, and the walls are thin enough that noisy neighbors can keep you awake. There was no outlet by the beds, so we had to charge devices in the bathroom. Bring a universal outlet converter. It wasn't a great stay. It may suit you if you're trying not to spend much, but I'd advise paying more. It's worth it.

I spent seven days at Las America’s Hotel in November/ 201021. The room was excellent, and I liked the restaurant's decor and decent menu. The staff, reception, and Lobby were efficient and helpful. I'd definitely stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

A good base for day trips around Santiago. The rooms cost less than at the Melia, but you get what you pay for.

A decent place, close to everything. The rooms were clean, with working AC, a fridge, and cable TV, and the swimming pool was good.
