Hostal El Palenque CASILDA

Ana is friendly, answers questions about tours and sightseeing, and speaks good German. We can really recommend both her dinner and breakfast. The hostal is nicely furnished and feels like home, with a pleasant roof terrace for a relaxed evening. A beautiful place to stay.

Ana is a wonderful resource, warm and friendly, and a pleasure to know. She can arrange activities, and she cooks beautifully. The meals we had at the hostal were excellent, probably the best in Casilda. They’re served on a pleasant ground-level terrace. The hostal is on Casilda’s main street, in a small town just outside Trinidad. It has three rooms, each with its own bathroom and air conditioning. We always had hot water and the water pressure was adequate. The rooftop terrace is a lovely place to sit in the evening, with a view of the mountains above Trinidad. Highly recommended.

Anna is an amazing host, and we’ve enjoyed her beautiful home twice. We’d be very happy to come back again. The rooms are very comfortable, and the food was amazing. She also has the best mango juice in Cuba.

We came for two nights and stayed four, which says a lot. Anna gave us a really friendly welcome, and the breakfast was generous and excellent, probably the best we had in Cuba. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, and well equipped. There’s an honesty bar and several outdoor areas and terraces. We loved sitting upstairs with a nightcap and watching life go by. They also have plenty of activity ideas, and the catamaran trip to the island was great. One morning, Anna’s son Jorge took us to the old sugar plantations and talked about life in Cuba. He even got our flat tyre fixed in under an hour on a Sunday, something we couldn’t manage in France. Thank you both so much. This was without a doubt our best stay in Cuba.
