Casa Jardim di Sol

Rose, Ingrid, Codê and the whole team made sure we had a wonderful stay from the start. We were the first guests, and they were always happy to arrange a taxi or driver and suggest places for dinner. Casa Jardim di Sol is in a peaceful residential area close to the oceanfront and Palmarejo centre. Our room was comfortable, there’s a pool, and breakfast was fabulous, all homemade. I’d love to come back.

Breakfast was meant to be boxed up for our early departure, as we’d arranged the night before, but it wasn’t ready. The new receptionist did help us find something quick. That was part of a generally chaotic, unprepared stay. The room WiFi didn’t work at all, and when we reported it, they basically ignored us, so this isn’t a good choice if you need to work online. The bathroom floor also had a lot of hair. I asked the receptionist to clean it, which she did, and she offered us a complimentary drink.

Everything felt new, and the place was really clean. Breakfast had fresh fruit, homemade marmalades, coffee, tea, and whatever else you wanted. You can walk to the beach for a few restaurants with good food at good prices, or walk to the ‘plato’. They also provide a free shuttle when you arrive, so there’s no stress. For a quieter room, ask for one upstairs. The beds are comfortable, everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great base in Praia.
