Clean, in good condition, and a nice stay for a good price.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, though they were hard to reach in the evening once the office was closed, even with Fabio living in the building. The location is on the edge of town, about a five-minute walk to the beach if the square is flooded after rain, and quicker across it otherwise. Shops and pubs are nearby, and the hospital is opposite. After sunset there are lots of mosquitoes around town, so shut the windows and use repellent, though it can be hard to find in local shops. Apartment #6 was spacious, with a bedroom, open-plan kitchen and living room, bathroom, and a balcony facing away from the sea. The TV didn't work because its cable connector didn't fit and was disconnected. The bathroom window wouldn't open. You could see only a little sea from the roof terrace, not from the room because other buildings blocked the view. Sea view was advertised when we booked. Without that, I'd look at cheaper similar places nearby.

Ca Elsa was in a great spot near both the beach and town center. Fabio helped us figure out getting around, including car hire and good lunch places. The whole stay had that true "Cape Verde" no-stress feel.

The owner of the apartment complex was very friendly and always ready to help. The rooms were spotless with daily cleaning, comfortable, and had a garden, wifi, and a great vibe. It's in a quiet spot, a few minutes on foot from Estoril beach, sports and beach bars, and the restaurants and bars in the main village. I've stayed here several times, and friends and clients of mine have too. You can ask the owner about rentals and trips around the island.
