The hotel is in a great spot, and I’d recommend it to anyone after a laid-back stay. A short way down the right side of the Hilton, there are free sun beds on an amazing beach. Inside, the rooms are spacious and cleaned every day, the pool area is relaxing, and the staff are very friendly. The place is instantly calming to look at. Breakfast was adequate, but hot food was often cold, and there were no English teabags on three of our seven days. It would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room. One day the staff painted the outside of the rooms without warning, which was inconvenient.

We booked our Cape Verde trip through an easyJet package, and the transfers ran efficiently. Dunas de Sal was lovely, with a small scale feel, large clean rooms, and daily servicing. The food was good, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I’d definitely recommend it.

A really clean, quiet hotel with welcoming, friendly staff. We stayed four nights with breakfast included, and liked that there was something different each day. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back.

We paid extra for a room on the third floor and were very happy with it, especially the lovely balcony. The hotel was spotless and the staff were friendly. The beach is a short walk away, far enough that nights stay quiet. Breakfast had everything you could want for a small hotel, though some of our group still complained.

The junior suite was a highlight, and the rooms were tidy and clean. The pool was pleasant and kept extremely clean. Service at the hotel was great, and it’s a five-minute walk to the beach. Santa Maria is about 15 minutes away along the beach promenade, which starts across the road behind the hotel. We found the restaurant food okay, though the quality of ingredients seemed to vary, with some days better than others. The fish was delicious, while the meat was lower quality. Portions were very satisfying.
