The ribs were fantastic, though I wouldn’t have minded one more! Great atmosphere, and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped in for a quick meal. My partner has coeliac disease, and we know explaining it in Cape Verde can be difficult, but the staff seemed to understand why he couldn’t have fried food. He asked for the sweet potato mash listed as a side. When the food came, there were two hash browns on his plate with no explanation, and the sautéed vegetables that were meant to come with the meal were missing. Only after we raised it did they tell us they didn’t have sweet potato mash. Why list it on the menu, and why not tell him earlier? People kept asking whether everything was okay. They looked disappointed when we explained, but nothing was done. He ended up eating just two small chicken drumsticks, which the menu called chicken legs. I suspect they may have been deep-fried, because he had a terrible reaction the next morning. The woman at the till took about £3-4 off, roughly 10%, but honestly the meal wasn’t worth what we paid. Very disappointing.

Lovely spot, great location, and the staff were very friendly. The cheese pizza was the worst I’ve ever had. The first one was so undercooked we had to send it back, and the staff apologized. The replacement wasn’t much better, and the cheese had a chewing-gum texture. Such a shame for a nice venue.

It’s now called Vista Mar. We stopped by for lunch and ordered spicy chicken wings and nachos as a small snack. Both were bad. The wings were drier than the Sahara, and the ground beef on the nachos was just as dry. The cheese sauce was like butter. Once was enough for me.
