The pool is lovely and clearly well looked after, and the central location in Grote Berg makes it handy for exploring Curaçao. There are beaches nearby, plus little grocery shops, places to eat, gas stations, and laundry options. Thuis]Haven itself doesn't have a guest laundry, though. Small loads can be done by the housekeepers if you ask. Our room was comfortable but basic, with a small fridge, a three-burner cooktop, and old cookware that seemed to be hand-me-downs. A few things could use attention: the sink faucet wobbled, some tiles were cracked or missing grout, and one window wouldn't open. We also had to unplug the fan and fridge to use the microwave. The owners kept mostly to themselves and weren't very chatty in our experience, which may suit some people. I wouldn't want anyone to expect a four- or five-star hotel, but it's a quiet, secure place in a useful spot for seeing the island.

Grote Berg is a little out of the way, though it felt safe and affluent, and you'll want a rental car on Curaçao anyway. From there it's about a 25-minute drive to Punda in downtown Willemstad. We could park our rental car inside a gated area. The owners were genuinely lovely and gave us useful suggestions for food, beaches, and other things. Their property is beautiful, with spacious rooms, each with an outdoor area, most facing the pool. Our room had a small kitchen, and the pool area was a real highlight, including a self-service aqua bar. Fantastic accommodation, highly recommend it.

The Tera Cora room suited us perfectly for our five nights, and we made breakfast in the small kitchen. We had a garden view and spent time by the pool. The hotel was wonderfully quiet, just what we wanted after the bustle of life in Toronto. The hosts were incredibly generous from before we arrived right through to dropping us at our next hotel. We look forward to coming back. Thank you for such gracious hospitality!

The garden and pool were a joy. We swam laps in the morning and had a drink at the poolside bar in the evening. The apartments are very stylish, and the hosts were super friendly and helpful. [THUIS]HAVEN is centrally placed for driving around Curacao and visiting some of the best snorkeling beaches.
