The hotel has potential, but the owner doesn’t seem to look after it very well. There was a huge hole in the parking lot when I arrived. The outside walls and floors need attention, and, for example, there were lots of loose clinker pieces on the bottom of the pool. Inside was better, though the kitchen cupboards and drawers smelled strange, and some of the floor bricks were loose. Those things just need fixing. I’d have given it three stars, but they gave me the wrong room, so I had to switch, which was annoying. They also had the wrong information about my Booking and said I had to check out earlier. I had to contact the company I booked with and show proof of the booking. Then my replacement room had no hot water in the shower, and the handle was broken, so I had to hold it up myself. If you just want to sunbathe by the pool, it’s not a bad option, but you get what you pay for. You’ll need a car to get to the beach.

Finding the place was frustrating because the roads didn’t have clear signs, and the reception office wasn’t easy to spot either. We wouldn’t have found the village center without asking reception for directions. It also may not be very child friendly, since there isn’t much for children beyond swimming in the pool. We actually liked the quiet in April and May, and the lack of children to trip over. We’re getting old and grumpy! We loved staying here. The apartments are roomy, and having a washing machine in the kitchen was great. The shower was strong, and our bathroom also had a bath. We hired a car and used the parking underneath our building. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive. There are plenty of meze bars about a ten-minute walk into the village, along with shops and a small supermarket. With a car, there’s a much bigger supermarket nearer the sea.

On our first visit, we booked through Booking and arrived in the middle of the night. aphnan welcomed us warmly, showed us around the apartment, explained everything, and gave us his personal number in case we needed anything. A few months later, we were back in the area without somewhere to stay, so I called aphnan that morning. He welcomed us again, and the same happened on our third trip. We’ll be back, mainly because of aphnan’s excellent customer service. We stayed on three separate occasions, each in a different apartment, and they were all great. Each had a kitchen with all the tools we needed, and there are cheap shops just a few minutes’ drive away to buy supplies. The rooms and living areas were clean and comfortable. One apartment even had a balcony bigger than our actual home! There were lots of parking spaces around each apartment complex. The pool wasn’t working. Maybe it was seasonal, maybe it needed too much time to maintain, I have no idea. There isn’t much within walking distance, so it’s better to have wheels. With a car, there are lots of places just a few minutes’ drive away in every direction.

Set in a pretty village on a hill facing the sea, the resort gives you a long view of the coastline stretching toward the horizon. The apartments are spacious and nearly spotless, with one or two bathrooms depending on how many people are staying. The kitchen opens onto the dining and lounge area, which leads to a balcony where you can eat and watch the sun rise or set. The pool isn’t especially deep, but it’s still nice for a swim after a hot day. A perfect place for a couple or family to relax and enjoy Cyprus.
