Anmaria Beach Hotel

The location was the best part. The strip is a short walk away, shops are nearby, and the nicest beaches are just under a 10 minute drive. The hotel itself was uncomfortable. Rooms were worn and torn, literally, with dirty bedding and stained towels. Breakfast was okay, but the rest of the food had little choice and not much taste. Most receptionists, except for one male staff member, seemed moody and unwelcoming. Music blasted most nights and made it hard to sleep, and we could hear everyone in the corridors. I wouldn't return or recommend it.

I had lunch from the menu at the Annmarie Beach Resort in Ayia Napa. Since I'm gluten free, I'm always a bit worried about what I can safely order when eating out. Tamara was so thoughtful and helpful. She checked with the Chef to find out which dishes were safe for me, and I really appreciate staff taking the time to do that. It made a real difference and made my stay more enjoyable and stress free. Thanks to Tamara and the team!

The restaurant staff, both in the main restaurant and by the pool, were kind and hardworking. I can’t say the same for housekeeping or the other staff, who were rude and wouldn’t provide basic things we needed in the room. The food was disappointing too: the chicken was very dry and the scrambled eggs tasted watery. The room had several problems. Water kept spilling from the bathtub, the sink was so old and tiny I couldn’t fit even one hand in it, and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash seemed to be the same product in different packaging. The walls were thin enough that we could hear the next room’s conversation. Housekeeping was especially bad. The floors were soaking wet, the minibar wasn’t restocked with water or coffee, and we had to ask for clean cups. When we asked the attendant to take away the old cups, she rinsed them in the bathroom and put them back on the table. Used towels were left on the bathroom floor, with no replacements, and when we raised it, staff denied everything. Under the beds was extremely dirty, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The pool had so much chlorine that my eyes became red and puffy, and my sister had an allergic reaction. Even the complimentary water beside the pool tasted strongly of chlorine. The hotel was nothing like the photos and descriptions, and I don’t recommend it for the price.

The beach view was stunning, and the hotel’s spot on a lovely street, close to restaurants and shops, couldn’t have been more convenient. We stayed this week with friends and loved how welcome everyone made us feel. The two men at reception were especially friendly, and the housekeeping ladies were kind too. Our room was modern, spacious and just right for three. There are two indoor pools, an outdoor pool, a sauna, a gym and more. I only wish the outdoor pool stayed open later than 6 pm. Breakfast had a big buffet with lots of delicious choices. I also had a really good burger at the pool bar, where the bartender was super friendly. I appreciated having different rates and booking options. We had a great time in Ayia Napa, and the warm weather made it even more special. I’d happily recommend the hotel.
