Atlantica Callisto

Lunch was delicious every day, and the desserts were so good we found ourselves looking forward to them. Everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. Andrea at the daytime bar made some of the best holiday cocktails we've had, and the gentleman in the snack area was charismatic, always smiling, and lifted everyone's mood. There were seven of us, and the whole week was amazing from day one. The reception team gave us a warm welcome and surprised us with a fantastic room with a private pool. Staff were attentive and kind whenever we had questions or needed help. It felt like they really cared about making our holiday special. A flawless all-inclusive stay for our group, with warm hospitality and memories we'd love to come back for.

We found something to eat at every meal, and the food was hot and varied. The pool bar food was good too. All the staff were lovely and polite, especially the barmen Andreas and atonio. We'd just come back from a 10-night holiday. The main letdown was the evening entertainment. There was daily information about the activities, but it didn't say where they were happening. The chairs at the bar are comfortable, though if you want to watch the shows by the stage, you have to sit on dining table chairs.

The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful, and the beachfront setting was perfect, close to protaras and Nissi bay. The harbour is a short taxi ride away, though the fare was higher than I expected. We had a lovely October half-term break. The hotel wasn't at full capacity, and it got noticeably quieter in the last couple of days before closing for the season. That meant no queues or sunbed and towel fuss, with a peaceful feel but still a nice atmosphere. The pool was great for the children. Food was a good standard with enough choice each meal. One older waiter, possibly a manager, was wonderful with the children, though I didn't get his name. The pool bar had good choices and nice cocktails, and the snack bar had plenty to choose from, with a friendly main server. We booked the à la carte restaurant once. The starter and desserts were nice, but unfortunately the steaks were inedible that night. We spent about half the evenings in and half out. The entertainment wasn't really our thing, though the kids liked the mini disco and loved the face painting. Our family room had a separate bedroom and children's beds in the lounge. It was large and comfortable, though could use a refresh. Some blocks look renovated, so perhaps others will be too. Two families had a wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back.

The dining room was the best I've seen at a four-star hotel, with a huge range of quality meats and tasty dishes. The dining staff were lovely and friendly. Andreas and the woman who usually works with him at the pool bar were awesome too. At night, the bar staff were all nice, and the big guy was already pouring your drinks before you finished ordering. He was lovely and worked hard to keep everyone happy. The hotel is right on the beach, with sunbeds by the pool or a grassy spot overlooking the sea. There weren't enough beds for everyone, so you'd need to get up very early. For young children, there's not much entertainment, just about 15 minutes at night with things like Baby Shark. The cleaning could be hit or miss. Sometimes the room was spotless with towels arranged on the bed, other times they didn't even make it. That isn't good enough for a four-star hotel. We also had trouble getting a courtesy room. Reception staff didn't seem to know what we meant, then suggested getting fresh towels at the pool bar and showering in the toilets. When I went there, one of the two men's showers was occupied, and the other had nowhere to hang clothes or put them on a shelf, so they'd have been on the floor getting wet. Worse, that shower didn't work, and I had to come out naked with my clothes in hand and wait for the other man to finish. Despite those problems that spoiled the end of the trip, it was a great holiday in a fantastic hotel. There are a few things that need sorting out.
