Eleni Apartments

This was an awful experience, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend it. We were six people, but the apartment had only five beds. When we got there, we were told it was meant for just two, which made no sense, especially after we paid extra for four people. We also paid extra for air conditioning, then found out they'd entered the apartment while we were out and switched it off. That's unacceptable. They said they don't prefer Cypriot customers because we were telling the truth about them. It felt like they were just taking our money. We even had to buy our own toilet paper, though surely that should be replaced. We left very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Eleni really looked after us during our six nights here. She was always kind and helpful, and often offered lemonade with fresh fruit and sweets. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for a holiday. It's only a few minutes from the sea, tucked behind the local street. My girlfriend and I had a great stay, and I'd happily recommend Eleni Apartments.

I ended up looking for another place during my holiday. I'm in my 30s, and the noise was too much: loud club music outside plus groups of 18-20 year old guys in other flats making a racket in the corridors all night. Earplugs didn't help me sleep. There were a few other frustrations. The kitchen had no windows and got extremely hot, so without the extra air conditioning at 8€/day, we mostly stayed out on the terrace. The kitchen and entrance light also seemed to short out whenever we switched on the bathroom light. We reported it to Eleni, who sent someone to replace the bulb, but it kept happening. The Wi-Fi didn't work at all during my stay, though that might have been fixed since. At night, fried food from a nearby takeaway left a persistent smell on the terrace that drifted into the flat. There were some good points too. Flat number 5 had a lovely terrace with room to eat or relax, and there was usually a fresh breeze. Eleni was friendly and did what she could to help. The central Ayia Napa location is handy if you don't mind the music. For someone much younger who can live with the noise and other issues, it could suit, but it wasn't for me.

We had a good stay, and the location is right by the party area. The furniture looked dated, though it wasn't too bothersome. Water pressure was low while we were there.
