Grecian Sands Hotel

We changed hotels for the extra week of our trip, and thank God it lifted our mood completely. These were the most disappointing five days of my two-week holiday, and I wouldn't stay here again. The atmosphere felt strange and lifeless, the food was mediocre, and most staff, especially the older ones, seemed unhappy and unfriendly. They rarely smiled and often looked irritated. Evening entertainment was weak too. The singers had no energy or emotion, like they were singing in the shower. At one concert they even started a sound check during the show, making loud, unpleasant noise that spoiled it for everyone. Around 95% of the guests seemed to be elderly. Many came across as grumpy and not very polite, and the staff seemed to reflect the same attitude. If you want a sunbed by the pool or beach, you need to reserve it around 5 or 6 in the morning. Arrive later and you'll find the spots already “taken” by older German or British guests who seem to occupy them all day. I won't have good memories of this hotel.

We were happy with the hotel overall. The view was great, and the nearby beach was really nice, with lovely blue water. The food was good, though nothing spectacular. Some of the staff had a less than ideal attitude, and the cleanliness around the pool and beach could be better.

We really enjoyed our stay and will be sad to leave. The hotel has lots to do, including a gym, spa, indoor pool, and daily activities. Our favourite was pottery: we made our own piece and also got a more professional one made on a pottery wheel with help from a lovely potter. There are restaurants and bars, including a nice rooftop place that sells hamburgers, which we loved. The location is wonderful, right by the sea, with great views. The hotel is within walking distance of the love bridge, dining spots, shops, and a supermarket. Our room was spacious and super clean, the bathroom was comfortable, and we slept very well in the comfortable bed and pillows. The shower had no curtain, so to avoid a huge flood we learned to open the tap only halfway. Breakfast was incredible, with loads of choices. The omelette lady was our favourite, so kind and friendly, and made the BEST omelettes. Like at many hotels, there weren't enough sunbeds, so we had to get up at 7 to reserve one. There's also a municipal beach next door where you can rent loungers and umbrellas at a decent price.

The hotel is in a great spot, close to Ayia Napa center but still quiet and relaxing. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had stunning sea views. The pool and beach area were amazing, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast had lots of options. Highly recommended for a Cyprus beach holiday!
