Limanaki Beach Hotel

The pool was very dirty, and the breakfast buffet served the same cheese all week. By the second day it was dry and cracked, yet they were still serving it six days later. They wouldn't bring butter even when we asked, though they had a yellow spread labelled as tasting like butter. The bowl labelled Nutella for pancakes actually held a generic chocolate spread. I know that's nitpicking, but for the price this place wasn't for me, and I'd try somewhere else. For a four-star hotel, the service and amenities didn't feel four-star. We stayed a week, and our three-year-old brought the average age down from 83 to 78. The balconies aren't properly separated, they're practically open between neighboring rooms. An 80-year-old guest next door spent much of the time coughing, blowing his nose and chain-smoking on the balcony. We couldn't leave our balcony door open to ventilate because of the smoke, so we kept it shut to sleep and avoid exposing our child. He has every right to use his space as he likes, and we didn't complain or raise it with staff, but you'd expect a four-star hotel to protect guests from that kind of intrusion. The place just wasn't my cup of tea. The air ducts, AC unit, mattresses, bathtub and doors all felt dated, too.

I've stayed here before, in April 2022, with my two nephews and their girlfriends, and nobody had a complaint. I booked again at short notice recently and was just as happy. All the staff, day and night, were friendly and welcoming. I had dinner with my family, and we had no complaints about either the food or service. Breakfast had great options. The room was clean, with complimentary soaps in the shower, plus water and a glass of wine waiting for me. I slept really well, the AC was spot on, and there was a TV with loads of choices. My only small gripe this time is that I couldn't fill out the questionnaire because I didn't have a pen. Everything about my stays has been enjoyable. Thank you to all the wonderful staff 🤗

The bathroom looked neglected when we arrived: thick limescale on the taps and tiles, a drain that hadn't been cleaned properly, and other people's hair in it. We also found a large grasshopper in the room. The hotel has been renovated on the outside, but the interior still has outdated features, including the air ducts, AC unit, mattresses, bathtub and doors. The sheets were clean but old, and one was torn. Towels were changed daily and the floors got a light clean, but dust and hair remained in the corners and under the bed. The bedding wasn't changed, and the bed wasn't made neatly. The curtains were dirty and the balcony furniture badly worn. The receptionist was disappointing too. She seemed annoyed when we asked about nighttime transport to the airport, as if our question was an inconvenience. We also saw her raise her voice at another guest who asked where the nearest store was. In our opinion, this hotel doesn't meet four-star standards.

The location was the one thing that worked for us: the hotel is near both the beach and town. The rest made the stay hard to recommend, especially for more than €2,000. Our “deluxe” room was cramped, with barely room for side tables, and stayed damp however we used the air conditioning. Steps down into it could also be difficult for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. Cleaning was minimal. The floor seemed to get a quick mop, pizza boxes from our late arrival remained for four days, and the bathroom needed a proper deep clean. Breakfast was disappointing too: watered-down juice and food that was warm rather than hot, so we ate elsewhere most mornings. We never got to use the pool area because sunbeds had to be claimed before 8:30am. Staff weren’t helpful either. After we left our key inside, a receptionist gave us a dirty look and said, “Perfect, you forgot your key.”
