Loutsiana Hotel Apts

There’s a great restaurant opposite the waterpark, and both are within walking distance of the hotel. If you get peckish at night, the hotel bar does very good pizza. Protaras is absolutely stunning too, and you can get the bus into Ayia Napa or Protaras for €2. The stop is literally outside. We’ve just returned from a fabulous week at the Loutsiana. The hotel was spotless, the rooms a good size, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a tasty selection, though my one complaint is that it could have been hotter. Keep an eye on it if you leave breakfast unattended, or the birds will eat it!

The ants got worse as the two nights went on. They began in the bathroom, then spread along with millipedes to the bed and the rest of the room. By the final night it was unbearable, and I ended up on a slightly uncomfortable sofa, where I managed only two and a half hours of sleep. Housekeeping changed my towels but did nothing about the infestation, which only got worse. Birds right outside the room also woke me with a racket around 4AM. At check-in, staff were okay but didn’t make much effort to welcome me. Breakfast was passable, though it didn’t taste especially fresh and seemed very exposed to flies and food poisoning. Food and drinks at the bar were steeply priced and didn’t seem worth it, even the water was expensive. The pool area was okay, and the cats wandering the grounds were friendly. I wouldn’t stay here again, though the hotel could be lovely if the staff and managers put in the effort.

I’m not demanding. Clean rooms and beaches nearby are what matter to me, and both were there. The bus stop is another plus: we went into town for €2, and a day ticket costs €6. There’s a water park nearby, as well as an interesting Marina Hotel with a yacht marina.

We couldn’t keep the room when we left for our late flight, and there was nowhere to hang wet clothes in it. Those were the only things we missed, though. The hotel is small, and I’d definitely return. We’ve just got back from a week’s bed-and-breakfast stay. The rooms were beautiful, the pool was lovely, breakfast was nice, and all the staff were lovely. I can’t believe it’s only a 3 star. The air conditioning worked amazingly, and the shower was the best we’ve ever had. The nearest beach, which is amazing, is about a 15-minute walk away; getting there by bus or taxi is easy too.
