Makronissos Beach Villas

The villa is right next to a pub where people shout at parties until 2 a.m., which was a real problem with five children and an infant. We also didn’t feel secure, since anyone could open the gate. I wouldn’t recommend it to families with young children, though it might suit a group of young people. There were plenty of problems during our two-and-a-half-week stay at Makronisos Beach Villa. The living room had no air conditioning despite being advertised as air-conditioned. The master bedroom’s unit stopped working properly after a few days, and we were told not to leave it running all day, even though it was 40 degrees. The toilet had a sign asking us not to flush paper, which wasn’t easy for a family of seven. We found ants everywhere after shopping, and the fridge wasn’t cooling properly, so milk, salad, and vegetables went bad in less than 24 hours. We had requested a crib before arriving, but it only came the next day. The master bedroom bedding was very uncomfortable, although the children’s rooms were well equipped. The issues were gradually fixed, but the manager’s replies felt curt. When we mentioned ants, she said to put the food in the fridge, even though it was small and not working properly. We would have appreciated an apology for all the trouble, but didn’t get one. There were good points too. The house matched the photos on Booking.com, housekeeping came every other day to mop and change sheets and towels, and a gentleman checked the pool, which was always spotless. The person in charge of the villas was responsive and sent the right people to sort things out.

A lovely place to spend a holiday.

A great villa for young people.
