Milea Hotel

The only things I thought were okay were breakfast and the location. I changed rooms later because the lower-floor room had no privacy, with people walking right by the pool, and there was too much noise at night. There’s no lift to the upper floors, the pool is tiny, and the facilities are poor. The air conditioning didn’t work, and the cleaning wasn’t done properly. At check-in around 1 am, the night receptionist didn’t speak English well. The guy who helped with my luggage stayed in the room too long, making unnecessary conversation and leaving me uncomfortable. Some male staff, and a man I think was the owner, stare at women. This place is a joke.

The location was fantastic and breakfast tasted good. Those were the only real positives, though. The first room had a double bed and an “extra bed” that was really just a sofa nobody could sleep on comfortably, so we had to switch rooms. The linen and towels looked worn and stained, and the curtains needed washing. Towels were only replaced every 2-3 days, which was uncomfortable in the humid weather. There were no drying racks on the balconies for wet clothes or swimwear, a real hassle for a beach stay. The hotel needs serious improvement in cleanliness, comfort, and basic facilities.

I really enjoyed the breakfast and thought the stay was good value for money. The reception team were lovely and helpful, too. Everything was just a short walk away, but we were far enough from the clubs that we couldn’t hear them at night.

Breakfast at The Market Restaurant at Melia Hotel was delicious. I especially enjoyed the tasty homemade sausages, and the service was very attentive. A special thank you to Ms Than and Myat. I’ll come back again.
