Nissi Villa Ourania

We had the villa with the pool in front, which worked out well because it got afternoon sun. We rented it for six days for ten people and had a great time; everything was good. There are three villas with the same owner and design, and I think ours was the best. I’d suggest the owner leave some salt, sugar and other spices in the kitchen. We also found three EU plug adapters, which was handy.

The location and private pool are the main pluses. The bathrooms are worn, and there are no locks on the bedrooms or one of the bathrooms.

The location and pool were the positives for us, and the rooms are fairly large. But the villa seems to have gone without maintenance for years. The amenities are old and sometimes unusable: much of the kitchen equipment didn’t work, the washing machine was full of fungus, and we used the laundry room outside instead. One sink was blocked; we reported it to the hood, but nothing was done. The outdoor areas hadn’t been cleaned or even swept when we arrived. The BBQ looked worrying and had no specific installation, so we chose not to use it. There were ants inside, no electrical adapters, and Wi-Fi only worked on the ground floor. After five days we asked for a cleaning, which supposedly cost €40 instead of €80. There are only small mirrors in the bathrooms or toilets, not one full-size mirror. Several items listed in the ad weren’t there or didn’t work. We couldn’t find a children’s high chair or beds/cribs, household products, a tumble dryer, pool or beach towels, or an electrical adapter, which we bought ourselves. The washing machine was unusable because of the fungus inside, the safe was out of service, and the shower leaked onto the floor. The sofas were old with risers on top, nothing like the light gray ones in the photos. The BBQ facilities are self-explanatory, and the claims about an on-site ATM, convenience store and shops simply weren’t true.

Avoid this place. There were ants in the house, the bathrooms weren’t clean, and there were several water leaks. The property doesn’t look like the photos.
