Sunwing Sandy Bay Resort

We stayed one week in apartments 669 and 671. They were good and suited us because we wanted somewhere quiet. There was a road between the resort and the hotel with the beach view, so we heard some noise from trucks delivering or picking things up. The terrace had sun all day. The Lolo and Bernie concept makes it popular with families. Everything was good overall.

On the second day of my two-week stay, I laid my things, including my camera and computer, on the bed, put up the “Do Not Disturb” sign, and told the cleaners not to come in. When I returned, a cleaner had entered anyway, moved everything on the bed, and touched my personal belongings and expensive equipment. It felt deeply intrusive, almost as if someone had been looking for valuables. Towels and cleaning were only meant to happen every five days, so there was no reason to enter. I called the travel agency, and they said they'd speak to reception and make sure it didn't happen again. Less than six days later, I was on the balcony, half dressed, with the sign still clearly displayed, when a woman walked into my apartment without warning and loudly said she was there to clean. I'd never experienced staff and management being so disrespectful. The travel agency couldn't explain why it happened a second time. I ended up packing and moving to a completely different room because the cleaners clearly weren't respecting simple instructions. Reception staff were rude and often blamed me, the guest, for problems they had caused. After the move, the travel agency apologized and offered me a €50 voucher. We had to change rooms because water was leaking through the ceiling in ours, and our neighbor had to move too because there was mould in their room. When we checked in, there was no soap or shower gel in the shower. Reception were very rude and called us difficult, even though they weren't delivering what we had paid for. This ruined our vacation. We won't come back, and I don't recommend the place to anyone.

The room didn't offer the quality you'd expect for the price, and the empty soap dispenser at check-in didn't help. There were stray cats everywhere, which didn't seem hygienic to me. While we were eating, the waitress kept coming over, asking if we were done or if she could take our plates, around 50 times. It made us feel rushed, like they didn't want us there. The cleaners also came into my room despite the “don't disturb” sign, which was embarrassing. The staff didn't seem professional, and it didn't feel like a vacation at all.
