Tasia Maris Beach Hotel and Spa - Adults Only

The food was good and one of the best parts of the stay. The grounds were well maintained, and the hotel is close to the beach. We enjoyed the evening music, though the volume, especially for the bingo announcements, was unnecessarily loud. It wasn't too disturbing. The room and reception service fell well short of what we expected from Tasia Maris. We booked a Superior Room with Sea View, but much of the terrace was overlooked by the hotel, and the sea was only partly visible on the right. When we asked the same receptionist about it, the curt reply was, “Yes, that is the room you booked.” There was no explanation, empathy, or effort to find a compromise. The room was basic, the bathroom was very small and uncomfortable for two people, and it didn't look like the photos on the booking website. Even with daily cleaning, the room never felt clean enough. We arrived before the 2:00 PM check-in time and got a cold, unprofessional response that we were too early. We were handed two towel cards and told we could go to the spa if we wished. No one welcomed us properly or explained the facilities, so we had to figure things out for ourselves. That receptionist seemed distant and uninterested throughout the stay, with no greeting or effort to engage. A hotel reputation rests on more than food and location. Being made to feel unwelcome and getting a room that didn't match expectations can't be made up for by good meals. With the poor reception service, disappointing room, and lack of comfort, I wouldn't return.

The room was cleaned daily and the towels were changed, and the staff were really nice. There was a good range of food and theme nights, too. We booked a basic swim-up room on all-inclusive, but it only got sun from about 9.30 am to 12.30. After that we had to move to the pool or the beach, where sunbeds and an umbrella cost extra. The beach itself was lovely. It was always busy.

The hotel itself is nice for Ayia Napa, but we wouldn’t choose to come back. We were there for a week on all-inclusive, though we arrived at 11:30PM on the first night and missed food and drinks. The plastic sandwich they gave us was rock hard and impossible to eat. Food was decent overall: lunch was a set menu with plenty to pick from, and dinner had a different buffet selection each night. Breakfast wasn’t great, and the local drinks tasted like petrol. On our last day they cut off the all-inclusive wristband, with bar access only until 12 o’clock and a choice of dinner/Tea. In practice, we got just 5 days of all-inclusive for the week.

The pools were lovely, with clean, warm water, and there were daytime activities in and around the water as well as evening entertainment and music. We found the hotel very clean, and the staff were friendly, approachable, and helpful. Food was delicious, with lots of variety and generous portions, and there was a good choice of drinks. It was a great place to relax, and we’d definitely return.
