Meryem's Hotel

We had a peaceful pool area and a really good breakfast, with fresh homemade treats. The hotel is in a great spot for exploring Northern Cyprus by hire car, and the staff helped make our week a lovely holiday. We’d certainly return to this friendly, welcoming place. There were a couple of small room issues at the start, but manager Uğur sorted them out promptly and brilliantly. Thanks to Zahid, Shakir and Romanick for always looking after us, and to Amy and Ruth for taking care of our room.

The staff were professional, friendly and helpful, and the place has potential, which is why I’ve given it three stars. The building’s condition was disappointing enough that two stars might better describe that part of the experience. The owners need to take care of basic maintenance. Our first room had no bathroom door. After we complained, we were moved to one with a door, but no ventilation, and the window couldn’t be opened because its hinges were broken. The whole property feels neglected and disorganized, with damp patches on the walls, a broken shower-head holder and only lukewarm water. Fixing these obvious problems would make a big difference. Breakfast was very good, by the way.

We had a large, spacious room, and the food was incredibly good. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the animals were treated very well too. The team works hard and creates the warm, welcoming feeling of a five-star hotel, while the atmosphere stays familiar and quiet. It’s easy to relax deeply in a short time here. You also get a sense of the country’s culture and how it’s lived. Thanks for such a wonderful time with you. We’d love to come back!

We stayed one night at this perfectly nice little hotel. Good location, good breakfast, and all the staff were very pleasant.
