The place was easy to find, and before the stay the host was quick to answer my booking questions. But after check-in, I found that only one of the six ceiling bulbs worked. The floor lamp in the corner wasn't enough to light the room, so I messaged the host and waited for a reply. As I looked around, I found food stains on the fridge door, dirty fridge shelves, and a lot of dust and dirt on the floor beside the bed. The towels were very old, worn, and fraying. There were stains on the dining chair covers, the bathroom floor wasn't clean, and the coat rack was wobbly with dust built up at its base. I'd booked five nights, so I contacted Airbnb to report that the cleanliness was below standard. While on the phone, I spotted a large rip and fraying on one chair cover. Airbnb asked me to photograph the issues and send them in, which I did. Airbnb told me to wait for a call back. The host arrived to replace the bulb, but had brought only one, even though I would have expected the lights to be checked before guests arrived. He became rude, abusive, and threatening. He said he would accuse me of ripping the chair cover, told me to book a hotel, called me a snob, and said the accommodation was for poor people. He seemed nice when he liked what he heard, but showed a different side when I raised constructive feedback. I didn't feel safe. I wasn't asking for luxury, just basic cleanliness you'd expect in any rented accommodation. My daughter sat quietly in the corner of the living room during the conversation. The host apparently said she and I hadn't been kind after I brought up our concerns, but they were valid and I showed him the problems. We didn't swear, raise our voices, or make derogatory remarks. I've stayed in youth hostels, campsites, and tents, and their facilities were much cleaner than this holiday apartment. Fortunately, Airbnb helped cancel the booking, and we found a much cleaner place for a similar price.

A great place to stay when visiting paphos. The sea is just five minutes away, and there's a stocked kitchen, a pool, and a restaurant beside it. Nicholas was an amazing, accommodating host and really made our stay. There are lots of friendly cats too, which is a bonus. We'd definitely come back.

The apartment was dirty and fell short of what we expected. The towels and bedding were old and worn, the bed was so uncomfortable I had to sleep on the small sofa, and there were cockroaches. The owner's actions after our stay disappointed me most. I left a balanced but honest two-star review, then he sent me a €11 refund. After that, my stay was marked as a cancellation or “no-stay,” and Booking.com’s algorithms rejected my review. I thought the refund was odd, then the scheme became clear. I felt the action was dishonest and deceitful, and I believe it's why the review score is artificially inflated.

We were welcomed very warmly, and the location is great, with beaches within walking distance. The beds weren't very comfortable, but the price seemed reasonable for what you get compared with other places we've stayed.
