St. Nicolas Elegant Residence

The staff were fantastic and really helpful, and we had a great holiday. The place was pleasant, but needs a lot of cosmetic work. You'll definitely need a car because it's nowhere near the shops. There's a small shop on site with just about everything you need, though it's a bit pricey. The booking-site pictures look nothing like the apartments, so be prepared. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the restaurant.

It's a nice hotel with friendly staff, a pleasant pool and a family-friendly atmosphere. Still, the cleaning needs work. We woke up one morning to find a cockroach in the bath. Cleaners come every three to four days to tidy and change the towels, but I wouldn't rely on their cleaning.

You'll need a car here, since nothing is close enough to reach easily without one. The place is very basic, and the staff aren't friendly, sometimes they're quite rude. Housekeeping should come every two days, with towels and linen changed every four, but nobody visited our room during our seven-day stay, even after we reminded them twice. Don't eat here, the food is disgusting. Go to Lidl and make your own meals, which is much cheaper and tastes better, or eat out.

The staff are lovely, always smiling, and whenever we asked for something they helped us straight away. We did have to ask for quite a few things, though. A few more towels for each family, plus salt, pepper and coffee in the kitchen, would be useful. The apartments are very large and good for a family willing to keep an open mind about a low-cost stay. Ours had a washing machine and kitchen, two bedrooms, two toilets and a big living room. For the price, what you get is great. We plan to visit again next year.
