Oasi̇s At Ayfi̇lon

The rooms are basic and the restaurant is okay, but the price in euros doesn't make sense when nearby hotels have 5* facilities for less. The location and views are stunning, which makes the neglected beach all the more upsetting. It was dirty, with old sunbeds, no parasols, and piles of rubbish and dry seaweed. With a little effort it could be beautiful. Tourists shouldn't have to pay to stay on a beach that's left like this, and there's no good excuse if the owners want people to return. Owners, buck yourselves up and clean the beach. Shameful.

Dinner was excellent, especially the delicious grilled sea bass, and the staff were very nice and helpful. We had a cozy room right by the sea with breakfast included. The sunset during dinner was amazing, and there's a beach beside the hotel where turtles go to lay eggs. Highly recommend this as one of the best places on the Karpas peninsula.

There are only about 7 or 8 rooms, so it stays fairly quiet. At lunchtime, though, the restaurant fills up because of the crystal clear cove and sandy white beach in the next bay, about 200m on foot. The hotel itself sits right on the beach, and you can hear the waves as you fall asleep from any room. It's a remote spot, with only moonlight and stars around at night. The rustic style fits the natural surroundings, but it's not luxurious. If you want luxury, choose the 5 star hotels at Boğaz instead. I had a four poster double bed that was actually two singles, which my back really hated. Still, I highly recommend it as perhaps the best Karpaz getaway. If you drive or cycle up the track on the north side of the Karpaz from Oasis towards the end of the peninsula, there's no more civilisation. Hotel Oasis is the last stop.

Simple but fitting rooms, with aircon and WiFi if you want them, and a warm welcome. The food was very good too. This small hotel is beautifully placed with easy access to crystal waters near the ruins of a Roman harbour. A perfect base for exploring the Karpas, or just switching off.
