La Regina Veneziana Guest House & Cafe

We stayed in the old city building, in the house with three gorgeous, clean rooms, a private courtyard, and a rooftop patio. The central courtyard was especially pretty and relaxing. Breakfast was a very nice Turkish-style “serpme.” The owner was helpful and easy to work with, and the city center is within walking distance. A beautiful old building and a great place to stay.

The breakfast is so generous and delicious it could almost be from a five-star hotel's menu, so do yourself a favor and add it. The accommodation's value for money is easily among the best I've come across. This place stands out from its surroundings by at least threefold.

The breakfast alone was a real treat, with hot dishes, homemade boreks and pastries, and fruit preserves made with local produce. The orange juice tasted like the traditional Cypriot mix of island citrus, and the flavours were lovely. We also appreciated how much care they put into preserving the buildings and gardens, including the old stone walls in our room and what seemed to be a centuries-old olive tree in the courtyard. Our separate building felt quiet and private, with comfortable beds and outdoor spots to sit and relax. The guest house is beautiful, clean and peaceful, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. It sits inside the castle walls, just a short walk from cafes, restaurants and important historic sites. We loved our stay and would happily come back when we visit Cyprus.

The old city’s walled area is a very convenient spot, and the breakfast was incredible.
