Constantinou Bros Athena Royal Beach Hotel

Everything was handy: the airport was only a 20-minute drive, and there were car, jeep and buggy hire businesses right outside. Several watersports centres were a short walk away too. The hotel sits opposite the sea, along a lovely beach road for walking to Paphos centre. There are pools, loungers, bars and restaurants, with plenty of space and places to sit and relax. The staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms spotless and the showers great. The buffet food was amazing. I couldn't fault anything.

We enjoyed the lovely walk into the centre, and it was great to have the option of eating outside on the balcony. The buffet was delicious, and the restaurant team were accommodating and friendly. The hotel was clean, but what really made it special was how helpful and warm the staff were. Our cleaner was especially lovely and always smiling. There were plenty of daytime and evening activities if you wanted to join in. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We liked the facilities, especially the fully equipped gym, heated indoor pool, table tennis, pool and darts. It was also a great spot for a quiet break, with attentive, kind staff and clean facilities. The location worked well for us: about a relaxing 20-minute walk along the coast into town, with plenty of food places nearby. The food was surprisingly good too. Our only gripes were that the rooms had no air conditioning in April, which may not suit people who aren't used to the cold British weather, and that the pool was shallow because there weren't lifeguards. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay.

Our first-floor room had a balcony and sea view, plus a huge comfortable bed and a good shower. We could hear chairs scraping downstairs once breakfast began, since we were directly above the restaurant. That was the only small issue. Breakfast itself was excellent, with loads to choose from, including fresh fruit, omelettes cooked to order, bacon, cheese and pastries. The hotel is adults-only and has a relaxed feel, with friendly service and drinks brought out to the pool. It’s right on the coastal path to Paphos, so you can walk about 30 minutes to the Harbour and enjoy the sea views along the way. We’d book again, it was just what we wanted and deserved its high reviews.
