Hotel Dome

We love the calm feel of the hotel and hearing only a few English voices, while being in the minority. The rooms and their fixtures are tired, but the atmosphere makes for a relaxing stay. Step out front and you're in bustling town; head out back for peace and quiet, a sunbathing area, pool, sea water pool and steps into the sea. Breakfast is decent, and the food at the linked Anchor restaurant is good and reasonably priced. Plenty of other restaurants are an easy walk away. If you rent a car, expect to spend a lot of time in traffic getting in and out of Kyrenia. The Dome suits a slow holiday of sunbathing, swimming, reading and relaxed strolls around town. For entertainment, noise and lots of tripping about, I'd look elsewhere. We've stayed at the Dome four years running. We'll probably spend time looking at cheaper places again next year, then come back because we love it.

We had a lovely stay, with a great location and facilities. A few things were frustrating: no kettle in the room, frequent power cuts, and an extra charge for room service when we asked for ice and cutlery.

I've returned many times, even though the rooms are due for an update. It's an oldie but a goodie, with a great location, good service and a great breakfast. The casino is inside the hotel. Depending on your room, you'll have either a balcony looking over the street in Kyrenia or a sea view. The staff are friendly and attentive.
