The Library Hotel Wellness Retreat

The village of Kalavasos is beautiful, with two very nice restaurants and plenty of parking. The breakfast was functional. We hadn’t realized we’d be staying outside the main building shown in all the online photos, which had been a big part of the appeal. The spa area didn’t impress us much. It needs to be booked ahead, the sauna barely gets warm, and the pool is tiny. Service was mixed. The bedroom was clean, thanks Priya, but the sheet was very thin and the bottom sheet didn’t cover the mattress properly. There was only one pillow per person. We asked for another each, but none were available.

The village was picturesque and peaceful, and the courtyard and pool were lovely. Rooms were a good size, with large bathrooms. For the price, it was fine, as long as you set your expectations accordingly. I wouldn’t call it a five star stay or a wellness retreat. The spa wasn’t working, the mattresses were poor quality, some pool tiles were broken, and the jacuzzi had a broken shower and plug.

The courtyard was a nice place to have the well presented breakfast, and there’s good parking behind the hotel with great tavernas nearby. I was in the area for business and didn’t use the wellness facilities. It was very quiet, and I slept well. The bed was firm, which I like. The Wi-Fi needs work. It was slow and kept dropping, so it wasn’t good enough for working. Also, pigeons seem to like drinking from the outdoor spa pool, leaving feathers and other debris behind. I wouldn’t have used it anyway, given I was there on business. I’d stay again.

If you’re looking for a calm spot to clear your head, with a gentle, inviting setting, this is the place. It’s very peaceful here. A sincere big thank you to the people who created and run it. Enjoy!
