That little cat by the pool was a highlight. In the evenings it would tuck itself into a flowerpot and watch swallows swoop down for a drink, though it never managed to catch one. There were plenty of cats around. Vassiliki’s House sits at the top of the old town, with wide valley views and a tucked-away feel while still being in the village. It’s clean, comfortable, spacious, and equipped for a longer stay: air conditioning, a winter fireplace, a washing machine, and a private pool. The pool was just right after a warm walk, and there are walking routes nearby from easy village rambles to more ambitious outings. It also works well for day trips to mountain towns and wineries. Food nearby is limited, especially mid-week, so plan to shop ahead or cook for yourself. The village seemed quieter and less welcoming than some others we visited, though there were a few notable exceptions. For peaceful surroundings and access to the wider region, it suited us well.

The pool has a fantastic view, and shops and restaurants are close by. The rooms had everything we needed for our stay, and the location was fun.
