Palatakia

The village is gorgeous and so peaceful, and a car is needed to get around, but it’s well worth it. Ben was always around with local tips and advice. We stayed in the junior suite, which had everything we needed, and the room was clean, tidy, and very good quality. Even though our flight was delayed and we arrived in the middle of the night, Ben met us and checked us in quickly. Angelica made us a delicious breakfast on our first morning. After that, we used the self-catering facilities to make breakfast and ate it on the balcony. There are too many nice places for day trips and meals to mention, but Nostos Taverna in Tochni was by far the best restaurant. Google it and you’ll see what we mean! Thanks for a great stay. We hope to come back in a year or so.

The pool was filthy, I got a skin infection, and there were cockroaches. This was the worst place ever, and a nightmare experience. It says adults only, but I saw kids in the parking area. That wasn’t a problem for me, since I have my own. Then it was pay, show the room, and leave. The owner manager kept coming to our room all night, and the person in the next room kept staring at us through the curtain. When I asked why they were coming to our room, nobody even replied. After 8 hours, they still hadn’t replied to my message and sent a lady who was obviously scared of them to tell us to check out. Worst experience, disgusting pool.

We stayed in the junior suite with terrace and wonderful views. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well equipped, and the kitchen had everything needed to make the odd meal. Eating out at local tavernas was excellent value. Our courtyard had a small pool that didn’t get much sun, but its refreshing water was welcome after a day of sightseeing. Palatakia is a must if you want to experience real Cyprus. Skip the coastal tourist resorts and head into the Troodos mountains. Angelika and Ben run the place with great charm. They gave us a friendly, informative welcome and were always available when needed. We definitely plan to return. Thank you, Angelika and Ben.

The village is peaceful and feels genuine, and wandering around it is really relaxing. The rooms were clean and fresh, the people friendly, and what you get for the price is outstanding. This might honestly be the best place I stayed on my trip.
