Holiday Village Rose Gardens

The staff in the bar and restaurant were brilliant, always ready to help, and the guests we met were friendly. We heard that many return year after year. The place was very clean, though our shower tray was badly stained, and maintenance felt poor. We couldn’t shower until midday because the water depended on solar heating. Breakfast had cheese, salad, bread, jam, melon and eggs. Cornflakes were the only cereal, with lukewarm long-life milk, and the orange juice was very watery. The other meals we ordered were quite nice. Smoking was allowed everywhere. It’s a beautiful, peaceful setting, apart from Tuesdays, when very loud karaoke with few good singers carried on past midnight. The location felt isolated from other bars and the beach, and we eventually hired a car because we felt trapped. The area is lovely but overdeveloped, and getting through kyrenia took us an hour. Northern Cyprus isn’t cheap anymore. Eating out cost us as much as, or more than, in England. Don’t let my experience put you off.

We had a lovely atmosphere throughout our seven-day stay, and the rooms were fantastic. The communal areas were also kept in great condition. It’s family run, and that showed in how committed the whole team was to looking after guests and maintaining the resort. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We recommend the hotel without reservation.

The hotel looked just as good in person as it did in the photos online, clean and not dated. Reception and the rest of the place were picture perfect. I had a choice of rooms, which was nice, and mine was spacious, with sofas and a dining table. There were two single beds upstairs in the same room, which I pushed together. The bar area was lovely, and the staff were lovely too. There are two swimming pools as well as a children’s pool. I didn’t get to try the food because I ate out with family every evening and had breakfast elsewhere, though what I saw on other guests’ tables looked nice. I’ll be staying again this December for Christmas. Thank you.

The ladies who took care of us did a great job, and the massage was easily the best we’ve ever had. We booked the full spa package today, with a 50-minute massage, sauna, steam room and Turkish bath (hammam). It was a wonderful experience and the prices were really fair for what you get. I’d highly recommend Holiday Village Rose Garden Spa to anyone looking for a treat.
