St. Mamas Hotel Apartments

The worst part was losing my entire one-month deposit. They kept all my money for “cleaning” and a “missing remote control” that had never been there. Ridiculous. I moved out after just three months. The apartment was overpriced, and I felt they tried to get as much money as possible from me as a tourist from another country. The owner did nothing to maintain the place. The rooms smelled bad, everything was sticky and dirty, drains were clogged and smelled awful, there were cockroaches, and the Wi-Fi was slow. The furniture and other things were in unacceptable condition, as shown in earlier review photos. I asked for the dirty toilet seat, which was covered in feces, to be replaced, and for another mattress because I could feel the metal springs. They said they would take care of both, but nothing happened even after I asked several times. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

St. Mamas apartament is in a quiet neighborhood, close to the sea and the airport, and the accommodation is inexpensive. We were also able to rent a car at an affordable rate, with a fair fuel policy, a one-day rental, and no deposit. The staff were welcoming and helpful, smiling when we arrived, letting us check in early, and allowing us to pay the next day without rushing us. They offered help around the clock. The place was fairly tidy and had a fridge, washing machine, comfortable beds, towels, and Wi-Fi. A wider choice of cutlery would be useful, and warmer quilts would be nice, depending on the season. Recommended.

The internet was good, but the place needs renovation, especially the somewhat nasty toilet. Finding it was confusing: Google Maps had the wrong street address, the phone number listed there was disconnected, and all the building lights were off when I arrived. Once I found a number inside the entrance hall, they told me to wait 20 minutes. I also had to pay an unexpected extra €15 in “mandatory fees” to get the key. They blamed my travel agent. Sure, but it was a bad experience.

It was dirty and smelly. The owner is super nice until you complain. If you shorten your trip and try to negotiate a cancellation refund, she gets vicious.
