Chloe's House

Chloe made us feel at home from the start, greeting us with Cyprus coffee and sweets. She’s very kind and clearly cares about her guests. We stayed in the Backyard Studio, which was clean and roomy enough for three. The kitchen has everything we needed, there were complimentary oranges, and the bathroom was spotless with warm water. Outside, the patio has a table for four and lounge chairs. The yard itself isn’t much to look at, though the grassy hills beyond it are lovely. This is a peaceful spot if you want to be surrounded by nature. Pafos is about 30 minutes away, and Kafikas, with plenty of restaurants and wineries, is just 10 minutes away. There’s not much nearby for eating, so plan accordingly. We’d happily return and recommend staying here.

We picked this place as a base for two nights while exploring Latchi’s hidden beaches and hiring a boat for Blue Lagoon. Chloe, the owner, was a lovely, kind Cypriot grandma, and she was happy to make us Cyprus coffee any time of day. She seemed to enjoy looking after us. There aren’t places to eat in the village, but Kathikas is a 10-minute drive away and has plenty of tavernas and restaurants. Bring breakfast supplies from a supermarket. Of the four rooms, two are newer and two have a traditional, older style. We stayed in one of the new rooms, with a small kitchen and private yard. The prices are very low for agricultural accommodation. We also spent a relaxing afternoon by the pool. We left with wonderful memories of Chloe’s House, and a bit of sadness that our July holiday was over.

Chloe and her son, who handles messenger and WhatsApp, were pleasant and easy to communicate with. The village was quiet, and the comfortable bed made for a decent base to see the region, with all the sights within a 30-minute drive. Still, we found the surroundings unremarkable. We stayed two nights in the Pool Studio in August 2021, paying 80e/night, which felt clearly overpriced compared with the quality and with the rest of Cyprus. The room was very basic and undecorated. There was just a bulb hanging from the ceiling and a neon light in the kitchen, with no bedside lamp for reading or relaxing. The bathroom wasn’t very clean either, with hair from previous guests on the floor. I wouldn’t strongly recommend it, unless the price came down significantly to match what’s offered.

Mrs Chloe was kind and helpful, and the place was quiet with a nice swimming pool. We had a lovely room that worked perfectly for us and our kids. We’ve just returned from three nights here. Thanks, Mrs Chloe, for everything. We’ll be back.
