Alexander The Great Beach Hotel

The location made it easy to enjoy Paphos. Alexander the Great sits right on the boardwalk, which runs for miles along the coast, and it's an easy walk of less than ten minutes to the Harbor, with its café restaurants and shops, the fortress, and archaeological sites. We walked both directions along the boardwalk every day and could easily stop at a bar or restaurant for a drink, snack, or meal. We enjoyed cold dips in the water, amazing sunsets, the sights, and meeting new friends at the hotel. Other guests were swimming, though it was cold for us. We spent a week there over Christmas 2025 and had a wonderfully relaxing and entertaining time. The hotel has several restaurants, indoor and outdoor bars, a spa, sauna, steam room, workout room, multiple pools, and a private beach. One of our favorite spots was the wide, shady porch, a lovely place for coffee or a drink, a chat, reading, or cards. We chose half-board, with breakfast and dinner, and enjoyed the variety and special themes at the restaurants. Our room was a little warm. Since it was late December, only heat was available, with no air conditioning. The hotel left a large fan in the room, which worked well overnight to keep us cool while sleeping. There are other very large hotels along this stretch, but we're glad we chose Alexander the Great. It's large enough to have plenty of amenities while still giving a warm-hearted welcome. Everyone we met, from the front desk to the restaurants and bars, was so nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

The sea-view room is worth the extra cost. Its added value to the stay more than covers the price difference, so make sure you book one. The location is great too, within walking distance of the harbour. We usually steer clear of big hotels, but even though this is a large, family-friendly place, it never felt crowded. The adults' area is much appreciated. Everything was high quality, from the food and towels to the attentive service, facilities, and activities, even off-season. It's a 4* hotel that could easily qualify for 5*.

The room was roomy and nicely decorated, and breakfast was good too. We were greeted with a drink, and the staff were friendly. It was quiet unless children were running around and shouting. I’d consider staying here again on a future trip to Cyprus. I also liked that we could use the second restaurant when the first was full.

Mr. Bogdan kept the restaurant tidy and cleared plates quickly without interrupting our meals. He was consistently polite, friendly, and professional, and his considerate manner made dining feel more pleasant. His care and dedication added to how comfortable and enjoyable our stay at the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel in Cyprus was.
