Club St George Resort

The pool was unfilled and poorly maintained at the start of summer, and the place had no good atmosphere. We only stayed a few nights for convenience, thankfully, but I want people to know what they may be getting into before flying to Cyprus for this resort. I've stayed at many places around Cyprus, and this was easily the worst. The rooms were in terrible shape, with damage all around and poor cleaning. The kitchen was unusable because it was infested with cockroaches, and we found a few in both bedrooms too. The whole resort seemed split between permanent residents and people sold a holiday destination. The advert photos felt like a scam. The church on site is abandoned and empty, and the children's park is so run down it seems dangerous. My nephew found a large rusty knife on some steps while looking for the amenities that weren't there. Breakfast was miserable. We stuck to toast because we didn't trust the kitchen's cleanliness, and the staff seemed insulted by that. They can excuse me for not caring. I'd spend a bit more for a much better stay at one of Cyprus's many excellent places. This isn't one of them.

We'd booked through booking.com five months ahead, but when we arrived the hotel said it had cancelled our reservation days earlier. booking.com still showed it as confirmed and ready. The staff laughed at our bad luck and left my wife and kids out on the street. They even asked if we had other options, a stupid question after cancelling our booking. I emailed booking.com, then a day later got a message saying we hadn't arrived and might be charged. An absolute SH*T show.

The pool was nice, and for the price the place is okay if you're not fussy. But the rooms are old and dirty, the bathroom smells and has mold, and the paint on the walls is cracked, dirty, and peeling. Cockroaches were running around in the room, which made my girlfriend freak out. I'd look for somewhere better located, closer to the sea and the centrum.

It's a quiet area, and the staff came to take the rubbish. The rooms are a little old, and they could do with a smart tv and more kitchen supplies. You need to rent a car, but at that price I don't think you can find a better hotel.
