Hilltop Gardens Apartments Paphos

The pools were a lovely place to spend the day, with separate ones for adults and children and a bar nearby. The grounds were clean and cared for, and Venus Beach, local markets and Lidl are all within walking distance. The price felt very reasonable for the location, service and cleanliness. What stayed with me most was the personal welcome. Hill Top Gardens is family-run, and the staff make you feel at home quickly. They’re happy to help with excursion ideas and even organizing trips to natural and historic sights around Paphos. It’s a relaxed, friendly place with a real sense of hospitality, and I’d gladly return.

The worst part of our stay was seeing two gay men told not to hug in the pool. That kind of homophobic treatment was deeply disturbing and unacceptable in 2025. The place also felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, and I would never recommend it. Our apartment was filthy when we arrived, with a cooker that didn’t work and a balcony door that wouldn’t lock, which felt like a serious safety issue. The whole property seemed neglected and run-down. There was noisy, dusty construction all around, starting early and making it impossible to relax. Another guest warned us about the place as we arrived, and sadly they were right.

Cyprus was beautiful, but this apartment was a huge letdown. It was very dirty, and during the week I was there the cleaner came only once. The staff were incredibly rude. On our last day they tried to charge me 45 euros for four days of air conditioning, even though I had all the receipts showing I’d already paid. There was just one person covering the bar, reception, shop and check-in, so getting a snack or drink meant a very long wait. I would not recommend this place. It doesn’t even deserve one star.

We’ve stayed at Hilltop Gardens three times now. The one-bedroom apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped, and the housekeeping is good. A special thanks to Pippa, our cleaner, who was really friendly and helpful. It’s handy for shops, buses and restaurants, and Venus Beach is a short walk away. Good value accommodation, would recommend.
