Oracle Exclusive Resort

A good self-catering resort, just a five-minute walk from restaurants and shops and close to the harbour.

There are several owners here, each with a few apartments, from what I was told. Hopefully the companies running the place will get everything maintained properly. I’d go back if they fix the maintenance problems. The apartments are within a five-minute walk of the town centre, eateries and attractions like the ancient tombs, and about ten minutes from the sea. My rooms were clean and well equipped, with a washing machine, fridge-freezer, hob and oven, plus simple, nice furnishings, a bathroom and walk-in shower. There was a lot of broken or poorly maintained equipment. The hot water boilers seemed faulty, the air conditioning needed a serious upgrade or at least servicing, and all four shower heads I encountered were broken and useless. Staff were friendly and helpful, but I had to move twice, packing and unpacking three times across three apartments. The last move was an apology upgrade to a large penthouse-style family apartment with two balconies. Still, waiting around for each move took up some of my leisure time.

The pool bar staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, and the food there was very tasty. The entertaining cats helped too. Without them and the pool bar, we wouldn’t have had a good holiday here. The accommodation could do with an update, and the staff elsewhere weren’t terribly helpful. Our units didn’t have enough cutlery or glasses, though we had two units and could swap supplies when needed. Air conditioning cost an extra 7 euros per room per day, 147 euros for the week, even though we thought it was included. The shop was hardly stocked. My travel cushion also went missing.

The receptionist was kind and waited an extra hour for us, even though reception closes at 5 PM. They welcomed us warmly and explained the stay and nearby shops. We got the place for a very low price through a Google filter search. It was a whole apartment with two large rooms, a kitchen and a hall. The pool was closed for the off-season, and it was already cold anyway. The kitchen had the necessary vessels, but you need to buy everything else, from salt and sugar to cleaning liquid.
