Resort 5 stars Paphos

We had such a good time celebrating our friends’ wedding here. The hotel was clean and recently refurbished, with a lovely look. There was plenty of choice between the food and different restaurants, and the staff were friendly. We’d definitely stay again! 😁

Hiring a bike and going to the harbour ended up being a highlight, as I spent more time outside the resort than I’d expected. The stay was hard to enjoy fully, especially for what we paid. At check-in, nobody explained some key information and we weren’t given wristbands, which made ordering drinks awkward. We had to go back to reception to sort it out. Later, we learned we were supposed to have sunbeds allocated when we arrived, but that hadn’t happened. Staff were a mixed bag: some were friendly and attentive, but I’d say only about half gave consistently good service. In the main buffet restaurant, even after several days, staff kept asking our room number and didn’t seem to recognise us. The buffet was disappointing too. A lot of the food was lukewarm, didn’t always seem fresh, and dishes were often slow to be replenished. Branded alcohol cost extra, with only lower-tier drinks included in the all-inclusive package, which wasn’t what I expected for the price. This wasn’t like my stays at other resorts.

The coastal walkway nearby was a real plus for us with two young daughters, and we liked the varied buffet enough to eat there for every meal. The food was enjoyable, the hotel was clean, and staff were always polite and friendly. The children’s programme was the main reason we booked, but it was a major disappointment. There were no organised daytime activities, schedule, themes or mascot appearances during our stay, despite the advertising. The “Little Monsters” and crèche programmes seemed not to exist. It felt like clear false advertising. We also weren’t comfortable leaving the girls in the kids’ club: it didn’t seem properly supervised, staff appeared distracted by their phones, and the room was dark and uninviting. The outdoor play area looked dirty, unused and unsafe, which is worrying for a family-focused hotel. There was also drilling and workers moving between rooms during the day, making nap times difficult. The hotel has good points, but we wouldn’t return and would tell families to reconsider if they’re booking for the advertised kids’ activities.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The room was modern and freshly decorated, and the food and drinks were great. The entertainment was first class, the sort of shows you’d normally pay to see. Staff were amazing, always helpful and friendly. Thank you so much.
