The pool area was pleasant, with plenty of sunbeds, but the water was freezing and there were no showers nearby. The gym was disappointing too: none of the equipment worked, and there weren't any showers there either. On our last day, our pickup wasn't until 6:30pm, but the hotel couldn't offer a late checkout. When we asked where we could freshen up, they directed us to an open luggage room, which wasn't ideal. The hotel was exceptionally clean, but that's where the positives ended for us. Staff seemed rude and unhelpful. Reception rarely acknowledged us, and ignored my 5-year-old daughter when she said goodbye several times. There were very few staff in the dining area and no customer service. During our five-night stay, nobody cleared our plates, so we did it ourselves. The food selection was limited and honestly not very good for a supposed four-star hotel. Drinks at the pool bar were poor quality, including flat beer. The snack bar cost us €80, and the food tasted like cheap frozen items, often burnt or very dry. Plates were left full, but nobody checked whether things were okay. It felt like staff didn't care, or there simply weren't enough of them for the number of guests. I wouldn't return. The area is lovely, far enough from the main town for a quiet stay but close enough to enjoy some nightlife if you want.
We were a family of three with a 3 month old, and the hotel wasn't quite set up for younger kids. There's little shade by the pool, loud music seems to be a contest with the hotel next door, and the nighttime entertainment is often very loud. With a baby, the odd door safety setup means you can't sit on the balcony at night with the door shut. That leaves you choosing between the child being deafened in the bar or one parent staying in the soundproofed room. During the day, the AC switches off unless the balcony door is locked shut, so if the child is napping and the room gets too hot, one parent ends up inside while the other is stuck outside on the balcony. The hotel suits couples or groups of friends better. It's lively at night, with good bars and restaurants nearby. Pernera's bars and restaurants are about 10 minutes away, and the beach is a similar walk. The rooms are generous, staff are great, and the location is good. The food lost it some points: over our week, it felt repetitive. Bohemian Gardens is modern and clean, though a little basic. Before kids, it would've been perfect for us, and maybe we'll return later in life. To be fair, the hotel doesn't market itself as especially family friendly, so that's something we'll bear in mind next time.
We spent more time out of the hotel, so I can't say much more about it. It's a lovely place, clean throughout, and the cleaning staff were so nice, always smiling and saying hello. They clean the pool and surrounding areas every day. There's a good-sized car park at the front, and I had one cocktail at the pool bar for €7. It tasted okay. It's a 22-minute walk to the Protaras strip, with plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants. The sunbed situation was a bit 🙄: some people put towels down around 7am to claim the same beds each day, even though there are enough for everyone. It's about 45 minutes from larnaca airport. Would I come back? Probably not, but that's just because after 10 years of travelling to lots of hotels, I want to do self-catering from now on. That's only my personal preference, not because the hotel is bad. I'd definitely recommend it. It's good for families with children or anyone looking for peace and quiet.
The rooms are clean and the hotel service is nice. The English breakfast is standard, and there are lots of English guests, but that's okay. The vacuum cleaner the cleaners use is so loud that you can forget about having a nap after dinner, and the room door feels like paper, so you hear everything.
We stayed at Bohemian Gardens for 10 days in September/October, 2025. We both had a great time and would return, now that we know what to expect, though there are a few minor inconveniences. The staff who served us were polite, helpful, and quick to clear things away. Daniela deserves a special mention: she did yoga with us each day and was warm and welcoming, guiding and supporting us. We enjoyed it enough to keep doing it ourselves. She's not permanently employed at the hotel, but I wanted to mention her. The food was mixed. Breakfast felt a little dull and lacking, while dinner was much better. We were half board, with no lunch, and there was good variety in the evening. The desserts especially impressed me for their range and quality. We liked our room. It was a good size, with modern, stylish facilities, a great view over the pool, effective AC, and everything worked as it should. The pool itself was smallish and freezing cold. The heat made the cold appealing at first, but I often got goosebumps and couldn't stay in long. Music from Bohemian and the hotel next door played constantly, getting loud and repetitive. We got used to it, but at first it drove us mad. The sunbeds were great and plentiful, and we never had to get up early or fight for one. The hotel is a bit out of the way, though it didn't feel like much of an issue with a rental car or if you're happy to walk. It's not one to turn down.
